We tend to generalize, categorize, classify a group of people according to their location, social status, dressing style... Stereotyping is a concept, a belief one group has in relation to another group. It can be a simplification of reality, an exaggeration,or even a distortion. In some cases, it is just related to conceptualizing a "national character".

Stereotypes can sometimes be misleading and that's why we should discuss our beliefs in relation to other groups to demystify our biased views and our preconceived ideas. Learning more about other groups will lead us to understanding diversity and accepting the different, the unique.

That was exactly what our group did! And here is the result.

What about you, guys? What are the stereotypes about your own culture, nation, or people? Are they true? How are these stereotypes different from your own reality? What are your impressions about the Brazilians?

Let's share our cultural backgrounds to help the others understand our social context and our traditions.
